Calling all non-walkers!

Want to go out for a walk but have no one to go with, or don’t know where to walk? Then ‘Walks for Beginners’ is just what you need. Not everyone can or wants to walk miles and miles, which is why the Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership launched a programme of walks for beginners back in June. Initially aimed at people who were not confident about walking, they were also designed for people who wanted to keep-fit and those who enjoyed walking  but had no one to walk with.

The programme proved very popular as the pace was always leisurely, the atmosphere friendly and it allowed like-minded people to get-together for a walk and a chat. By popular demand we are now continuing the programme through to December. The walks are predominantly along surfaced paths or pavements, all relatively flat, and follow routes in and around the Blackwater Valley.

So if you live in Aldershot, Ash, Blackwater, Camberley, Cove, Farnborough, Mytchett, Sandhurst or Yateley there will be a monthly walk near you (details below). Booking is not required you just turn up on the day. The walks take place every Friday afternoon starting at 2pm, and last between 1˝- 2 hours. Flat comfy shoes, a drink and a raincoat are recommended.
