Good Weather for Ducks

Goosanders by David Carey

If you’re interested in birds in general and wildfowl in particular then come along to a talk, given by Colin Wilson of the Blackwater Valley Countryside Trust (BVCT), on Thursday 24th November and find out more about the many winter visitors that can be seen in the Blackwater Valley.

Over 200 different species of bird have been recorded in the Valley, and the winter months are when you will see the best selection of wildfowl, when you can expect to see everything from Wigeon and Goosander to Teal and Pochard.  Not only will the talk tell you what species to look out for but it will also advise you on the best places to go to see them and takes place ahead of a guided bird walk on Thursday 8th December

The venue for the talk ‘Good Weather for Ducks’  on Thursday 24th November is the Canal Centre, Mytchett Place Road, Mytchett, Surrey GU16 6DD, doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. The evening is led by Colin Wilson – Trustee of the BVCT and a member of the Berkshire Ornithological Club.  Numbers are limited so anyone interested in attending should phone 01252 331353 to book their place. Although free to Trust members there is a suggested donation of £3 per person and guests are very welcome.

The Blackwater Valley Countryside Trust is a charitable organisation which seeks to raise funds to enhance the Blackwater Valley for the benefit of the people and wildlife in the area.
