Blackwater Valley Countryside Volunteers

Our Tuesday group has proved so popular that it is currently full and due to health and safety restrictions we are unable to take on any new recruits. If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer we would advise you to contact us again in the autumn, or keep checking this page where we will post details of any changes to the situation.
As well as conservation volunteers we have limited opportunities for people to help out in the office or with specific one-off projects, so if that appeals to you please email.

If you want to do conservation volunteering, there are a number of other volunteer groups who would welcome your assistance so do look through the list.

Tasks

Work takes place in the Blackwater Valley on a number of sites. Volunteers carry out a wide variety of different practical tasks including:

Pond clearing
Hedgelaying
Fencing
Scrub clearance
Footpath work
Woodland work

See our current work programme.

We also run occasional workshops on relevant topics and have regular social events such as walks, talks and visits.

When

Tuesday and most Sundays.
