Go ‘Wild’ Around Frimley
Want to discover the ‘wild’ side of Frimley? Then join a circular walk on Tuesday 20th September organised by Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership that takes you through a variety of different landscapes, passing through woodland and heathland and alongside both the River Blackwater and Basingstoke Canal.
Starting at 10am at Frimley Lodge Park, the five-mile walk, will be led by Sarah Broadhead and should last about three hours. It is part of ‘Go Wild in September’ an event co-ordinated by the Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership, designed to encourage residents within the area to learn more about the countryside on their doorstep and get involved with looking after it. Come on the walk to: learn some of the history connected to Frimley Fuel Allotments... talk to conservation volunteers about the work they do... find out what happened at Frimley Rectory in 1850… discover some surprising facts about the Basingstoke Canal... experience the different sights and sounds of the Blackwater Valley Path.
Anyone is welcome, just meet at the car park inside the main entrance of Frimley Lodge Park off Sturt Road, Frimley for a 10am start on Tuesday 20th September. Booking unnecessary but please wear suitable clothing and footwear. Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. For more details about the walk, the Blackwater Valley or ‘Go Wild in September’ ring 01252 331353.
