Up, Down & Around Farnham
Experience four remarkably different landscapes on this guided walk up, down and around the Farnham area on Thursday 20th October, led by Sarah Broadhead from Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership.
First there’s the ancient woodland at Rowhill Nature Reserve, which is also the source of the River Blackwater. Next comes historic parkland, as the walk passes though Farnham Park, one of two deer parks established in 1376 by the Bishops of Farnham. Passing by Farnham Castle the walk continues on through rolling countryside and then open heathland plains, climbing up to Hungry Hill before going back down to Rowhill.
The route covers around seven miles and will last between four and five hours; challenging in places so please wear suitable clothing and footwear.
Anyone is welcome, just meet at Rowhill Nature Reserve car park in Cranmore Lane, Aldershot for an 11am start on Thursday 20th October. Booking unnecessary. Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. For more details about the walk, plkease ring 01252 331353.
