The Mysterious Minibeasts of Cove Brook

Minibeasts, creepy crawlies, invertebrates, insects – it doesn’t matter what you call them, but if you would like to find out more about these small mysterious creatures come along to Cove Brook Greenway, Cove on Saturday 11th September.  The Cove Book Greenway Group are inviting people to discover the wildlife of the area by taking part in a variety of activities at the site. You could try your hand at pond dipping the Cove Brook, take part in a minibeast hunt or join conservation volunteers to help improve the grassland of Birchbook Reserve to benefit both insects and wildflowers in years to come.

Cove Brook supports a wide variety of wildlife, and Birchbrook Reserve with its meadow and wood edge is a nature reserve, so there should be lots to find and identify. Come along, learn more about the wildlife of this area and find out what you can do to maintain it . Meet at Blunden Hall, Blundon Road, Cove on Saturday 11th September from 11am onwards. Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.  Please wear suitable clothing.

This is part of the ‘Go Wild! – The Countryside in Autumn’ an event co-ordinated by the Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership, designed to encourage residents within the Blackwater Valley area to learn more about the countryside on their doorstep and get involved with looking after it.
