WALK: Guildford Town Walks
Go through 1,000 years of history on a walk that will take you past some of the most interesting buildings in Guildford. Discover the history of Guildford as a centre of industry, trade and transport with visits to the Abbot's Hospital, St Mary's Church, the Undercroft and the Castle grounds. Walks start from Tunsgate Arch, which is located half-way up the High Street (opposite the Guildhall Clock), Guildford. Walks lasts 70-90 minutes and are free. Join a local guide on this walk to discover more about the history of this Georgian town. Meet at Wagon Yard car park at the bottom of Downing Street. Time: 11am – 1pm. Covers 2-3 miles. A gentle, one hour, circular walk along mostly man-made tracks, through trees and skirting the lake. A pleasant walk round some of Aldershot’s heathland combining the area’s heathland and history with a few hills that will give unrivalled views around Caesar’s Camp – so be prepared for a steep climb.
