Horseshoe Lake Activity Centre
    
Surrounded by open scenic countryside the Centre operates on a 22-acre lake offering:
- a purpose-built pavilion with changing rooms, showers, refreshments and lecture areas
- a secure boat park for storage
- lakeside picnic area
- on-site BBQ facilities
The centre specialises in:
- dinghy sailing
- windsurfing
- canoeing
and offers a wide range of courses for all abilities and clubs for juniors and adults.
Season tickets or casual use 'lake passes' can be purchased and the centre also offers day group activities such as for birthday parties.
Paths
A bridleway runs along the northern boundary and there is a path around the lake that offers views of the site and the surrounding countryside.
Wildlife
Site surveys in recent years have confirmed that the site is home to a wide variety of birds, including winter visitors and breeding birds. There are a range of habitats at Horseshoe Lake including:
- open water
- marginal shallows
- shingle
- bare ground
- rough grassland
- patches of developing scrub
This combination of habitats supports a variety of invertebrates including grasshoppers and crickets and a number of different species of dragonflies and butterflies.
Location
Follow the A321 to Sandhurst. Turn into Lower Church Road by the church. Follow the road for about half a mile. Turn left at the T-junction (Mill Lane) and the entrance to the sie is on the right after a short distance.
