Up, Down and Around Farnham
Experience four remarkably different landscapes on this guided walk up, down and around the Farnham area on Friday 21st October, organised by the Blackwater Valley Walkers’ Link.
Starting at Rowhill Nature Reserve, the source of the River Blackwater you go through ancient woodland. Next comes historic parkland, as the walk passes though Farnham Park, one of two deer parks established in 1376 by the Bishops of Farnham. Passing by Farnham Castle the walk continues on through rolling countryside and open heathland plains climbing up to Hungry Hill before going back down to Rowhill.
The undulating route covers around five miles and will last about three hours, it may be muddy in places so please wear suitable clothing and footwear.
Anyone is welcome, just meet at Rowhill Reserve car park in Cranmore Lane, Aldershot for a 10m start on Friday 21st October. Booking is unnecessary. Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult and dogs on leads are welcome. For more details about the walk, ring 01252 331353 or visit the website www.blackwater-valley.org.uk
This walk is organised by the BV Walkers’ Link, which aims to keep members informed about the walks and walking groups in the Blackwater Valley area whilst regularly providing walking advice.
