Explore the Blackwater Valley

Explore the Blackwater Valley leafletHave you explored the Blackwater Valley and the many opportunities it offers for outdoor recreation? No? Then it’s time
you did and the perfect introduction to what can be found in the area is a new leaflet called Explore the Blackwater Valley.

Produced by the Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership – who have been involved with the conservation and management of the area for over 30 years – the colourful leaflet is a latest in a series that have produced over the years. This updated version contains
a map of the Valley area with details of the many recreational activities found in the area and the facilities they offer.

“Anyone who doesn’t know what the Valley offers, should get one of our leaflets.” says Christine Reeves, Visitor Promotions Officer at the Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership. “It doesn’t contain everything you need to know about the Valley, but it’s the perfect introductory guide.”

At its heart is the River Blackwater and the 23-mile long Blackwater Valley Path and along its length there is a wealth of recreational facilities. If you want to enjoy the area’s flora and fauna the Valley boasts 31 wildlife sites including nature reserves and Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), but there’s also four water sports centres and numerous riding school as well as fishing lakes and parks.

For your free copy of Explore the Blackwater Valley send a sae measuring 22cm x 11cm to BVCP (Explore) Ash Lock Cottage, Government Road, Aldershot GU11 2PS.  Alternatively you can download the leaflet from the website
