HEALTH WALK: From Pine to Park

TALK: The Magic that is Rowhill

This month the Rowhill Nature Reserve Society talk is by Roy Champion, conservation officer for Rowhill Nature Reserve, who will be giving his annual update on the work that has been done on the reserve.

COUNTRYSIDE CRAFTS: the Hedgerow and Woodland Conservationists [HAWCS]

This local group are dedicated to the traditional art of woodland coppice management and hedge laying. Meet at Shepherd Meadows, Sandhurst. Map ref: SU 848 606. Time from 10am – 4pm. WALK: Friend’s of Lavell’s Lake Bird Walk

Lavell’s Lake is rich in bird life, which is attracted to the reed beds, shallow scrapes and quiet surroundings. Two hides are available for viewing. On the second Sunday of every month join the Friends of Lavell’s Lake for a walk around the Park. Time: 9am-12 noon. Cost: Members free, donation of £1 for non-members. WALK: Mother’s Day Family Walk

What could be better on Mother’s Day than to celebrate Mother Nature on a three mile gentle spring time stroll followed by tea and cake. Suitable for all ages. Costs: £2 for refreshments. WALK: Spring Stroll

Stroll around Frimley Lodge Park watching Spring burst into life. This is a 56 acre site. Please bring binoculars if you have them. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Suitable for families. WALK: The Countryside in Spring – Warfield Circuit

One of a series of regular mid-week walks, today it is a ‘Rambler’ walk, which will cover up to 6 miles and taking 2.5 hours. Meet for a 10.30am start at Frost Folly car park, Wellers Lane, Warfield. FAMILY EVENT & WALK: Step into the Country 1pm-5pm

Experience the outdoors indoors and learn about local countryside sites, green areas and traditional crafts at this special event at the West End Centre, Aldershot. There will be plenty of hands-on activities as well as workshops, storytelling, stands and demonstrations. A great way of finding out more about the countryside on your doorstep. Discover how to make a hazel hurdle, watch a wood carver hard at work or have a go at the ancient craft of weaving. For the more adventurous, there will be a guided walk leaving at 1.30pm, so dress up warmly! Doors open at 1pm. Entry is free. Art created by local school children will be exhibited in the gallery. WORKSHOP: Willow Structures – Plant Supports and Obelisk

Learn how to make dramatic obelisks for sweet peas or other climbing plants, or to use as unique sculptures in your garden. No previous knowledge of working with willow required.
