WALK: Friend’s of Lavell’s Lake Bird Walk
Lavell’s Lake is rich in bird life, which is attracted to the reed beds, shallow scrapes and quiet surroundings. Two hides are available for viewing. On the second Sunday of every month join the Friends of Lavell’s Lake for a walk around the Park. Time: 9am-12 noon. Cost: Members free, donation of £1 for non-members. FAMILY EVENT & WALK: Step into the Country 1pm-5pm
Experience the outdoors indoors and learn about local countryside sites, green areas and traditional crafts at this special event at the West End Centre, Aldershot. There will be plenty of hands-on activities as well as workshops, storytelling, stands and demonstrations. A great way of finding out more about the countryside on your doorstep. Discover how to make a hazel hurdle, watch a wood carver hard at work or have a go at the ancient craft of weaving. For the more adventurous, there will be a guided walk leaving at 1.30pm, so dress up warmly! Doors open at 1pm. Entry is free. Art created by local school children will be exhibited in the gallery.
