FAMILY EVENT: Nocturnal Wonders-Glow Worms and Bats
Come and see bats in a flying frenzy and learn how to identify them with the help of a bat detector, and then join in the search for one of our most fascinating and illuminating insects, the Glow Worm. Suitable for ages eight and over, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Wear sturdy shoes and suitable clothing. Meet in the main car park, California Country Park, off Nine Mile Road, Finchampstead. Time: 9.30pm -11pm. Cost: £3. WALK: A Date With Nature
Join the Wokingham and Bracknell branch of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds on a monthly walk around Dinton Pastures Country Park. Children under 18 must be accompanied. FAMILY EVENT: "Fur & Feathers" Wildlife Fun Day
This annual event at Brickfields Country Park includes farm animals, Birds of Prey display, stalls, displays from local environment and wildlife groups, hot and cold refreshments, games, quizzes, tombola, cake stall and our own brand "Brickfields Park" jams, a very popular item. Coffee and tea from our refreshments are all "Fair Trade" products. Millers Ark Animals are a popular attraction drawing young and old alike to their interactive display of Ducks, Goats, Geese, Rabbits, Cattle, Chickens Pigs and other farmyard animals. WALK: Farnham Town Walk
Join a local guide and take a walk of around 2-3 miles to discover more about the history of this Georgian town. Meet at the Wagon Yard car park at the bottom of Downing Street, Farnham. WALK: From Tweseldown
Come along on this enjoyable 5-6 miles circular walk exploring some of the heathland areas to the west of Aldershot organised by the Blackwater Valley Walkers Link. Meet for a 10am start at the Bourley Road car park by Tweseldown Race Course nr Fleet (the large stony car park at grid ref: SU 832 511, not the one further along towards Aldershot). WILDLIFE EVENT: Moth Night – Moth Morning
Join members of the British Entomological and Natural History Society (BENHS) and Berkshire Moth Group to discover some of the amazing moths at Dinton Pastures. Special lights and traps are used to attract the moths so you can get a really good look at them. On Saturday morning come along to see the moths caught overnight and help to release them. Meet on Friday night at the Loddon Room, Dinton Pastures Country Park, Davis Street, Hurst, Berks RG10 0TH, just after dark. On Saturday come at 9.30am. The event is free and there’s no need to book, just turn up.

BIRD WALK: Lavell’s Lake
Lavell’s Lake is rich in bird life, which is attacted to the reed bed, shallow scrapes and quiet surroundings, Two hides are available for viewing. On the second Sunday of every month join the Friends of Lavell’s Lake for a walk around the Park from 9am to 12 noon. Members free, donation of £1 for non-members. Chris Bean from the Blackwater Valley Countryside Trust will lead a leisurely walk to help you identify the many different species of dragonflies and damselflies found along the Basingstoke Canal and in Lakeside Nature Reserve. A fun day for all the family. organised by Ash Parish Council. In the morning there are various competitions such as flower, vegetable, flower arranging, baking and crafts. In the afternoon there will be events in the central arena including dancing, marching bands and plays put on by local drama groups. Around the central arena will be stalls, fun fair and various food and drink outlets. Other attractions include a Beer Tent provided by the Hogs Back Brewery. The Big Blue Playbus.
