WALK: A Date With Nature

Join the Wokingham and Bracknell branch of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds on a monthly walk around Dinton Pastures Country Park. Children under 18 must be accompanied. Time: 9am – 12.30pm. Meet in the main car park at Dinton Pastures Country Park, Davis Street, Hurst, Berks RG10 0TH. Cost: £1, children free (proceeds to RSPB).
 

WALK: Farnham Town Walk

Join a local guide and take a walk of around 2-3 miles to discover more about the history of this Georgian town. Meet at the Wagon Yard car park at the bottom of Downing Street, Farnham. Costs £3 for adults, children free. All the money goes to local chariites. For more details ring 01252 718119. This walk is held on the first Sunday of each month.
 

HEALTH WALK: Lanes & Hills

Get active and keep fit on this regular monthly walk, covering 3 miles at a steady 3mph with a Bracknell Forest Ranger. WALK: From Tweseldown

Come along on this enjoyable 5-6 miles circular walk exploring some of the heathland areas to the west of Aldershot organised by the Blackwater Valley Walkers Link. Meet for a 10am start at the Bourley Road car park by Tweseldown Race Course nr Fleet (the large stony car park at grid ref: SU 832 511, not the one further along towards Aldershot). WILDLIFE EVENT: Moth Night – Moth Morning

Join members of the British Entomological and Natural History Society (BENHS) and Berkshire Moth Group to discover some of the amazing moths at Dinton Pastures. Special lights and traps are used to attract the moths so you can get a really good look at them. On Saturday morning come along to see the moths caught overnight and help to release them. Meet on Friday night at the Loddon Room, Dinton Pastures Country Park, Davis Street, Hurst, Berks RG10 0TH, just after dark. On Saturday come at 9.30am. The event is free and there’s no need to book, just turn up.
 

BIRD WALK: Lavell’s Lake

Lavell’s Lake is rich in bird life, which is attacted to the reed bed, shallow scrapes and quiet surroundings, Two hides are available for viewing. On the second Sunday of every month join the Friends of Lavell’s Lake for a walk around the Park from 9am to 12 noon. Members free, donation of £1 for non-members. Meet at Sandfords Lane car park opp. Black Swan Sailing Club, Dinton Pastures Country Park, Davis Street, Hurst, Berks RG10 0TH.
 

WALK: Tree Trail at Lily Hill

Join the Lily Hill Park team on a walk through the woods gazing upwards at the wonderful array of trees. Meet for an 11am start in the North car park off Lily Hill Road, Bracknell RG12 2RX. For more details ring 01344 354400/345551.
  

WALK/TALK: Wildmoor Wildlife Wander

Join Dr. John Ward-Smith to experience the beauty of heathland in summer to look for dragonflies, birds and heathland plants. Suitable for adults and older children. Unsuitable for dogs.  Please bring lunch. Meet at Wildmoor Heath car park, off Crowthorne Rd, Crowthorne RG45 7PP.  Although the event is free pre-booking is essential on 01344 354400 / 354441. WILDLIFE EVENT: Moth Trapping Night

Join ecologist and moth enthusiast Adam Cheeseman to learn more about the moths of Hazeley Heath. Using a moth trap, moth pheromones and hand nets. Have fun helping catch and identify the many beautiful and fascinating species we have in the UK, with intriguing names such as Ruby Tiger, Blood Vein and Lime Speckled Pug. FAMILY EVENT: All about Bugs!

Families are invited for a bug-filled afternoon at Lightwater Country Park. Parents and their children will need to search high and low in the woods to find the mini-beast clues to solve the puzzle.Then, later on, children can have a go at catching the real mini-beasts that live in the meadows. From 2.30pm to 4pm. This event will be held at Lightwater Country Park, Heathland Visitor Centre, Lightwater, Surrey GU18 5RG. Organised by Surrey Heath Borough Council. WALK:  Blackwater Valley Path

Join this walk along the Blackwater Valley Path to Snaky Lane wildlife area organised by Guildford Walking for Heath. Meet in front of The Swan public house car park, Heath Vale Bridge Road, Ash Vale GU12 5ET. Grid ref: SU 595 528 at 10.30am for registration, the walk will start at 10.45 and will last about two hours. No dogs. FAMILY EVENT: Ash Fun Day

A fun day for all the family. organised by Ash Parish Council. In the morning there are various competitions such as flower, vegetable, flower arranging, baking and crafts. In the afternoon there will be events in the central arena including dancing, marching bands and plays put on by local drama groups. Around the central arena will be stalls, fun fair and various food and drink outlets. Other attractions include a Beer Tent provided by the Hogs Back Brewery. The Big Blue Playbus. Radio Frimley Park Outside Broadcast Unit. From 1pm -5 pm, in the Ash Centre, Ash Hill Road, Ash and on the adjacent recreation ground. EVENT: Rustic Sunday – an Experience of Rural Life

Country crafts, country musicians and the ambience of a vanished way of life. This is the Rural Life Museum’s longest running event and continues to demonstrate the vanishing countryside crafts to a new audience each year. You will need all your senses to follow these exciting nature trails around Dinton Pastures and complete the challenges set. Suitable for all the family. Event is from 2pm - 4pm. Bring a picnic beforehand, then meet Rangers from Bracknell Forest and Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership in action; watch demonstrations of traditional countryside skills, enjoy guided tours and fun activities.
