Saturday 3rd

WALK: A Date With Nature

Join the Wokingham and Bracknell branch of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds on a monthly walk around Dinton Pastures Country Park. Children under 18 must be accompanied. Time: 9am – 12.30pm. Meet in the main car park at Dinton Pastures Country Park. Cost: £1, children free (proceeds to RSPB). 
 

Sunday 4th

WALK: Farnham Town

Join a local guide on this walk to discover more about the history of this Georgian town. Meet at Wagon Yard car park at the bottom of Downing Street.  11am – 1pm. Covers 2-3 miles. Adults £3, children free. Money goes to local charities. This is a regular walk held on the first Sunday of each month. For more details ring 01252 718119.

FAMILY FUN EVENT: Easter Egg Hunt

Come and join the Easter Egg Hunt at California Dreaming. Find an egg in the park, bring it back to the café and see if you are a lucky winner. From 2pm at California Country Park, Nine Mile Ride, Finchampstead Wokingham Berks RG40 4HT. On the B3016. Costs £2 per child.  Children must be supervised. FAMILY FUN EVENT: Easter Trail

Children’s Easter trail exploring the woodlands and heathlands at Yateley Common. Follow the trail and collect all the clues to get an Easter surprise. Come anytime between 11am and 1pm for some family fun. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Booking essential. Costs £1 per child. FAMILY EVENT: The Great Easter Bunny Hunt

Join in the fun where the Easter Bunny Hunt will have families finding clues, solving puzzles and claiming rewards. Afterwards you can make an Easter hat and meet the animals from the Farms to Ewe mobile farm. Arrive anytime between 11am - 3pm. Sorry no dogs. Costs £3 per child with one accompanying adult; £3 for adults visiting the farm without children. Meet in the Heathland Visitor Centre, Lightwater Country Park, The Avenue, Lightwater GU18 5RG. Discover more about the Amazing Stag Beetle, one of Bracknell’s Biodiversity Action Plan species. Make a beetle mask and other beetle crafts and take away a beetle bucket. WILDLIFE WALK: A Spring Bird Walk on Puttenham Common

A 3 mile public walk has been organised by the Guildford & District RSPB Group to see springtime birds on Puttenham Common. Meet at 8.30pm for about 3 hours. WALK: Friend’s of Lavell’s Lake Bird Walk

Lavell’s Lake is rich in bird life, which is attracted to the reed beds, shallow scrapes and quiet surroundings. Two hides are available for viewing. On the second Sunday of every month join the Friends of Lavell’s Lake for a walk around the Park from 9am-12 noon. Members free, donation of £1 for non-members. WALK: The Countryside in Spring - Caesar’s Camp & The Redoubts

One of a series of regular mid-week walks, today is a  ‘moderate’ walk, which will cover up to 6 miles and take about 2½ hours. Learn how to use traditional English basket making techniques to make baskets that are robust, functional, unique and very beautiful. Suitable for beginners. WALK: Wildflowers in Bracknell

Join a walk looking at the Spring wildflowers in Northerams Wood Local Nature Reserve and then in Easthampstead Churchyard, Bracknell. From 2 -4.30pm. Pre-booking essential. Meet in the car park in Ringmead, Great Hollands opposite Wheatley. The party will then drive on to the church car park next to Easthampstead Parish Church RG12 8FU. Woodland paths with uneven surfaces. Some uneven ground. May be muddy if wet. Suitable footwear necessary. Refreshments at end of afternoon. No dogs. April 19th

WORKSHOP: Bird Identification

This indoor evening is aimed at helping you identify some of the birds found in your garden and the Blackwater Valley in Spring. The birds will be singing outside now so come and join us to identify which ones you hear and whether they are resident or migrants from many miles away. Pictures and song will be used to help you identify the birds. Starts at 7.30 pm at the Canal Centre Mytchett. Organised by the Blackwater Valley Countryside Trust, entrance is free to members, nominal charge to non-members (refundable on joining). Thursday 22nd

WALK: From Finchampstead

Join this pleasant walk exploring some of the countryside in the north of the Blackwater Valley and covering about 6 miles. The walk twill go via St James church, Longmoor Lake and Fleet Copse to California Country Park and back again. Pleae meet for a 10.30am start at Finchampstead village hall car park, RG40 4JU. Please park at the far end away from the village hall. Grid ref: SU 793 631. The route could be muddy so please wear suitable footwear,. WALK: Heathland Bird Walk at Bourley Long Valley

An early morning farmland walk in the Bourne Valley, North Hampshire, with frequent stops to listen to the birds, followed by a locally produced breakfast back at the farm. WALK: Guided Walk Around Nores Hill Woods:

Wokingham Countryside Service has recently taken ownership of this eight hectare ancient woodland and parkland site, home to a wide range of wildflowers. Formerly part of Windsor Great Park there are still a number of veteran Oaks as well as the rare Wild Service Tree. The site is just north-east of M4 junction 11.
