Local groups offering educational information or opportunities
Cove Brook Greenway Group
Schools and groups can arrange to use group equipment such as dipping nets, grass nets, magnifiers and indentification charts. Their field centre is a Blunden Hall in Farnborough and is also available by arrangement. There are also two publications available:
- Exploring Rivers and Streams
This is a cross circular study pack for Key Stages 2 and 3, based on Cove Brook and produced by Hampshire County Council. All schools should have a copy.
- Birchbrook Education Pack
This has projects based on Birchbrook Reserve and the group supply it free to teachers and leaders. Contact Cove Brook Greenway Group direct for the pack.
Rowhill Nature Reserve Society
Education is the second part of Rowhill’s Society remit for managing Rowhill Nature Reserve: “for conservation, education and relaxation”.
Schools and various childrens and adult groups book visits to the Reserve, particularly during the summer and autumn terms. Contact the Rowhill Nature Reserve Society direct for information.
