Top Award for ‘Blackwater Valley News’

Link to newsletterThere were celebrations all round at the Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership (BVCP) on hearing the news that their newsletter Blackwater Valley News had won first prize in the Technical Merit category and placed third overall in the Hampshire Community Publications of the Year 2006. The awards were announced at a special presentation evening held at the Guildhall in Winchester last night (Tuesday 7th November) attended by 100 entrants and guests.

“I’m delighted we have won this award,” said Christine Reeves Visitor Promotions Officer at BVCP. “We revamped the newsletter earlier this year giving it a cleaner and brighter layout to make it easier to read and more user friendly, so to win the technical award makes it all worth while. But full credit must go to A3 Design & Print who worked closely with us to develop the new style and whose technical ability and printing professionalism helped us clinch the award.”

Tom Ruddy, Sales Manager for A3 Design & Print based in Farnham said: "I am particularly thrilled to be associated with this award. A3 have won printing awards before but this one - specifically for our creative design and technical expertise - will be treasured by all. We have been working with Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership for several years and this award highlights the strong working relationship we have formed – long may this continue!"

Over 50 community magazines entered the competition, organised by the Hampshire Association of Parish and Town Councils (HAPTC) and sponsored by Greenhouse Graphics. As well as Technical Merit, the judges awarded prizes in three other categories: Aesthetics, Environmental and Social & Community. Hampshire Community Publication of the Year was awarded to Holybourne Village Magazine with the Best Parish Council Publication sponsored by HAPTC going to Romsey Extra Parish Council.

Blackwater Valley News is produced twice a year to publicise the projects, work and events carried out by the BVCP.
